Need somewhere for regular practice?
Hire the club fields for the season!
Unless you are fortunate enough to have your own land or have
unlimited access to a ménage, finding space to practice and hone up
your skills can be a real problem. You may not have easy access to
show-jumps and working hunter jumps. Lessons, especially with
quality trainers can be very expensive. To get the best value from
those training sessions, you really need time to put into practice
what you have learned. You may just want to get a young or
inexperienced horse used to working in a grass arena.
Help is at hand. For just £30 a year, any member of Eldwick Riding
Club can hire the club fields for unlimited use. The club fields may
be used between 01/04/2008 (jumping facilities available from
28/04/08) and the 26/09/2008 except when they are set up for, or in
use for, organised events. Compared to the hire of a ménage or the
cost of a lesson it really is fabulous value for money.
You get keys to the main gates and have access to basic equipment
for the whole season. Occasionally you will have to share the field
with other members but very often you will have the fields to
yourself.
There are some rules to observe...
You must be a paid-up member of the club. (One key per
person/member)
Junior members must always be accompanied by an adult.
You must put away everything you use.
Damage and breakages have to be reported so repair and replacement
can be arranged.
Of course you must never allow your key to be used by someone else
or allow anyone who hasn’t paid the field hire fee to use the
fields.
You are also advised always to have a mobile phone with you.

with a cheque made payable to Eldwick Riding Club.
